Approach is phased at district-level in Bucharest, following an integration at city level, considering the complexity of urban themes. Innovation will be centered on citizens at all stages of our activities. Districts in Bucharest have between 300,000 and 400,000 inhabitants, so the innitiative we look which solutions and services can be replicated in a fast and effective manner.
Main focus when Bucharest smart city is implemented is related to technology.The smart city technology infrastructure must scale beyond the traditional municipal users and support a new class of value creators, and city stakeholders.
The planned steps are:
1. Understand the smart city ecosystem framework and align it with the realities and priorities of Bucharest. Incorporate this model into the development of Bucharest vision, strategy and execution plans.
2. Relative to the smart city ecosystem framework, identify current capabilities and gaps across the various layers. Understand what is needed to support fast results.
3. Evaluate existing smart city concepts and projects against the ecosystem framework. Use the framework to identify what is missing from the project plans and what is needed to make the projects fully successful.
4. Prioritize and develop competencies across the various ecosystem layers. Bucharest smart city planning and implementation requires new skills and competencies. Capabilities will be assured through strategic partnerships and contracting service providers.
We intend to plan and implement smart cities in connection with AI, CLOUDS, ENERGY subjects in an integrated way by describing solutions and also presenting current implementations. We follow the expertise of cities, but also of businesses, NGOs and institutes.
